Huelva Provincial Council is joining the 10th International Berry Congress as a strategic partner

Freshuelva and Huelva Provincial Council have renewed their partnership agreement for the 10th International Berry Congress, which will take place on 18 and 19 June at Casa Colón in Huelva. With this agreement, the provincial council reaffirms its support for an event that has become the leading international forum for the analysis, debate and promotion of the soft fruit sector, one of the main hallmarks and economic drivers of the province of Huelva.

The President of Huelva Provincial Council, David Toscano, highlighted “the extraordinary track record of this Congress, which in this tenth edition reaffirms its status as a global benchmark for the berry sector, both for the quality of its content and for its ability to generate synergies and attract the attention of institutions, companies and the media from different countries”. Toscano also emphasised the Provincial Council’s commitment “to a sector that is key to the province’s economic and social development, which we will continue to support in the challenges of sustainability, innovation and international expansion”.

For his part, the president of Freshuelva, Francisco José Gómez, expressed his gratitude for the support of the Provincial Council and emphasised that this tenth edition “will be very special, not only because of the anniversary, but also because of the quality of the programme we have put together, designed to further promote the image of excellence and leadership of our soft fruits around the world”. Gómez noted that the Congress will feature a special programme dedicated to the sector’s 10-year evolution, with the participation of companies, institutions and experts who have played a leading role in this decade of growth and transformation. Also present at the signing ceremony were the Provincial Councillor for Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Patricia Millán, and the manager of Freshuelva, Rafael Domínguez.

Among the main new features of this year’s programme are the participation of broadcaster and comedian Manu Sánchez, who will open the conference with an inspiring talk on Andalusian identity and the value of local culture; and a presentation by the well-known science communicator and senior dietitian Pablo Ojeda, who will close the event with a talk on berries as allies for a healthy and mindful diet. This talk is sponsored by Gusto del Sur, a quality brand of the Regional Government of Andalusia, and is co-funded by the Andalusia ERDF Programme 2021–2027. The 10th International Red Berries Congress will feature, as in previous editions, a comprehensive programme of technical conferences, panel discussions and an exhibition area, in which leading companies in agricultural inputs, technology, logistics and marketing will participate.

With the renewal of this agreement, the Provincial Council and Freshuelva reaffirm their strategic alliance to continue positioning Huelva as the global epicentre of the soft fruit sector, at a Congress which, in its last edition, brought together more than 1,700 people and which reinforces the province’s global leadership in this field. Registration for the congress is now open and can be completed via www.congresofrutosrojos.com.
