Huelva City Council and Freshuelva have once again signed a partnership agreement for the 11th International Berry Congress, which will take place on 17 and 18 June at Casa Colón and will once again make the city an international hub for the berry sector.

The signing of the agreement was presided over by the Mayor of Huelva, Pilar Miranda, and the President of Freshuelva, Francisco José Gómez, who highlighted the consolidation and international standing achieved by this event, which has now become one of the major professional gatherings in the European fruit and vegetable sector.

Pilar Miranda emphasised that “the International Berry Congress once again places Huelva at the heart of the international agricultural sector, projecting the image of a city and a province associated with hard work, innovation and excellence”. The mayor also reaffirmed the City Council’s commitment to “an event that represents one of Huelva’s greatest economic and social strengths”.

For his part, Francisco José Gómez expressed his gratitude for “the constant support of Huelva City Council since the first edition of the Congress”, highlighting that “institutional collaboration has been fundamental in consolidating an event that is now an international benchmark for the entire soft fruit sector”. The president of Freshuelva added that this eleventh edition “will once again be an opportunity to analyse the sector’s future challenges and continue to strengthen the international profile of Huelva’s berries”.

The 11th International Berry Congress is set to return, now firmly established as the leading forum for producers, marketers, researchers and ancillary businesses linked to the sector. The organisers are already working on the final details of the official programme, which will address key issues such as innovation, sustainability, marketing, the opening up of new markets, and the health and socio-economic value of berries.

Having brought together more than 1,700 professionals at its last edition, the Congress has kept the deadline for booking exhibition spaces open, and registrations can now be made via the official website: www.congresofrutosrojos.com.
