Huelva, 19 May 2026.
The Caja Rural del Sur Foundation has renewed its commitment as the exclusive main sponsor of an event that has established itself as a major international forum for the berry sector.
Registration is now open on the Congress website.
The 11th International Berry Congress, organised by Freshuelva, will be held on 17 and 18 June at the Casa Colón in Huelva, which will once again become the global epicentre of the berry sector with the staging of the leading professional gathering dedicated to berries. The announcement of the dates for this eleventh edition has coincided with the signing of the agreement with the Caja Rural del Sur Foundation, which renews its commitment for another year as the Congress’s exclusive main sponsor. The agreement was signed by the presidents of the Caja Rural del Sur Foundation and Freshuelva, José Luis García-Palacios Álvarez and Francisco José Gómez, respectively.

The International Red Berries Congress thus enters its new edition fully established as the main meeting point for producers, marketers and ancillary companies in the sector, both nationally and internationally. Over two days, Huelva will once again bring together professionals, technicians, researchers and companies linked to a sector that is a leader in Europe and a benchmark in international markets.
The organisers are currently finalising the programme for the Congress, which will once again address some of the most important issues for the present and future of the sector, such as innovation, sustainability, marketing, the opening up of new markets, and the health and socio-economic benefits of soft fruits.
The president of the Caja Rural del Sur Foundation, José Luis García-Palacios Álvarez, emphasised that “the International Berry Congress has become a major platform for promoting the image of Huelva and a strategic sector for our province. At the Caja Rural del Sur Foundation, we remain committed to this event because it represents the innovation, knowledge and leadership of our farmers and businesses”.
For his part, the president of Freshuelva expressed his gratitude for “the constant support of the Caja Rural del Sur Foundation for this Congress and for the sector as a whole”, highlighting that “reaching the eleventh edition demonstrates the strength and consolidation of an event that places Huelva at the centre of the international berry industry”. Francisco José Gómez also expressed his confidence that this new edition “will serve to further promote unity within the sector and tackle the challenges of the future together”.
Having brought together more than 1,700 professionals at its last edition, the 11th International Berry Congress has kept the deadline open for booking exhibition spaces and has now opened the registration period, which can be completed via the Congress’s official website: www.congresofrutosrojos.com.
